2018 October, Korea – Korean machinery and electron enterprise LS Mtron established collaboration with XAG’s regional branch representative in Korea, together building distribution network for XAG’s Intelligent P Series Plant Protection UAS, providing a more thorough crop management solution for farmers in the region.

LS Mtron, specialises in industrial machines and state-of-the-art components, is also a major agricultural tractor manufacturer in Korea. LS Mtron is an innovative machinery and electron enterprise, with a progressive spirit that never cease to pursue innovation. The company is a LS Group affiliate, was once branch of which span off from Korean megacorporation LG Group, and became independent business in 2003. 

Both XAG and LS Mtron agreed that, the application of fully autonomous and high accuracy drones will greatly alter current industry structure of agricultural machineries. 

LS Mtron has been exploring the next breakthrough point of agricultural machinery development for years. The encounter with XAG’s P Series Plant Protection UAS in May 2018 convinced LS Mtron’s managers that applying UAS in agriculture is innovative and effective. The application of fully autonomous drones with RTK accurate positioning will greatly alter current industry structure of agricultural machineries. 

XAG and LS Mtron jointly demostrated the P Series Plant Protection UAS to Korean farmers in September. The demo gained positive feedback from the locals, which contributed confidence for the partnership.

Labour shortage due to aging in rural areas of Korea is getting severer over time. Younger generations are reluctant to reside in rural area intensifies the problem. To resolve this, enterprises like LG and LS Mtron turn their targets in agricultural solutions that runs with minimal manpower, reforming Korea’s agriculture with advanced technologies, thus create maximum value with minimal cost for farmers and consumers.
